French Toast



Ingredients for 12 people

12 beaten eggs
3 cup milk
6 tablespoons sugar
6 teaspoons vanilla
6 teaspoons orange liqueur (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
24 slices dry white bread (3 1/2 loaves of artisan bread)
6 tablespoons butter

Directions

1. In a shallow bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and, if desired, orange liqueur and/or cinnamon and nutmeg. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides (if using challah bread or brioche, let soak in egg mixture about 10 seconds on each side).

2. In a skillet or on a griddle melt ) of the butter over medium heat; act half of the bread slices and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on tach side or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining butter and bread slices.

We actually had a lot of left overs when we did this amount.  We didn't have Blaise, but make sure the kids are hungry if you make this much.
